I am sure that you have heard about the massive hurricane that is heading to Houston. We have left Houston and are in Austin at our lake house. But I wanted to tell you that the girls (the dogs) could feel something about 3 days ago, both would not go very far from us during walks and seemed nervous.
The most strange thing is that the girls absolutely love Austin, they can run, swim and chase squirrels, but they are staying very close to home and not eating very much. Bridgette actually starts barking and crying for no reason, it's like she wants to tell us something. Our normal 2 1/2 hour ride took 9 hours yesterday and the girls never went to sleep in the car.
It was heartwarming to see all the cars evacuating and the family pets that were along. We got dog food before we got water.
But on a good note, Ellie and Bridgette are best friends. They play together all day long and sometimes sleep with their heads on each other.
Next year , when our last child goes to college, we will be moving to the Hill Country near San Antonio. There are wonderful parks and outdoor space for the girls to play.
My husband wants two more Torbec Poodles but I don't know how we can ever fit 4 dogs in our bed. I promise to send a picture soon. Everywhere we go people talk about how beautiful they are and they are wonderful.
